Convention Center District Development Project

Live, work and play on the Mississippi River! The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has embarked on an ambitious new venture that will revitalize the City's riverfront. The project sits on 47-acres of land upriver from the existing facility.

New retail, residential and entertainment components will essentially create the newest neighborhood in this iconic 300-year-old city and connect the Warehouse/Arts District to the Central Business District and historic French Quarter creating a cohesive experience for visitors and residents.

Transportation Center

The multi-modal transportation center has opened at NOENMCC. This is the first completed phase of the linear park development along Convention Center Boulevard. All buses, shuttles, taxis and ride-shares will pick-up and drop-off all passengers here improving public safety and convenience of residents, local commuters and event attendees by eliminating shuttles, taxis and ride-shares on the main roadway.

Pedestrian Park

7.5 acres along Convention Center Boulevard, featuring interactive water elements, live event spaces, public art installations and shaded gathering places. The park will also provide access to the multi-modal transportation hub and a safe pathway for meeting attendees, facility staff and residents to move up and down the Boulevard. This phase of the project was completed in November 2020.
